Global Warming Tourism: The Rising Sea Level Slideshow!

Florida’s Key West as well as the Maldives, Tuvalu and the islands of Pate and Ndau in the Lamu Archipelago off the Northern coast of Kenya are among eight places that rising sea levels due to climate change will soon make uninhabitable, according to a provocative slideshow at Treehugger.

I hope this doesn’t start a trend in “climate-change cruises.”

I hope so too, opportunists will scout the areas out and set up shop so to speak. Worse would be the people taking the cruises.

Exactly the point. Tell people the place is in danger and you won’t be able to see it after 20 years, and everybody wants to book a flight there. Read this article couple of weeks back in CNN which listed some places in great danger of being drowned. That probably will have helped drown those places much faster.

Thanks for your interesting article and the many links.  I followed one to the Lamu Archipelago and spent a fascinating hour learning about the history and national museums of Kenya.  What a wonderful place it would be to visit!

It feels sad to think that global warming is gradually becoming such a disaster and most of us are not even aware of it, let alone do something to slow down its progress. A good slide show none the less…
