James Franco Reads Jack Kerouac

He bites off an excerpt from “On the Road,” which will appear in Lapham’s Quarterly’s summer issue simply titled, “Travel.” It’s a solid reading, but, alas, as you can hear below, he’s no Jack.

Suketu Mehta and Simon Winchester will also read from the travel issue at Idlewild Books in New York City on June 30 at 7 p.m.

We never read Kerouac in school but I like his voice!
James seems to try to copy it but he doesn’t quite get it right…
