Our contributors share a favorite travel-related experience from the past seven days.

I loved this hilarious pro-flying bit by comedian Louis CK on the Conan O’Brien show. My favorite part? When he says, “Everybody on every plane should just constantly be going, ‘Oh my god, wow!’”

Valerie Conners
Meat, glorious meat! Went to one of Philly’s more interesting restaurants, Ansill, to try the special “European Barbecue.” It involved a plethora of mysterious meats (think quartered hearts and kidneys from an unidentified beast) and very tasty grilled meats served with a variety of dipping sauces. The experience brought me right back to my days living in Leuven, Belgium, and one of my fave restaurants there.

Call me crazy, but I’ve been enjoying some old school Wagnerian German rock in the form of the Scorpions. Here’s one song that belongs on an obscure list of top travel songs by European hair bands:

Joanna Kakissis
Thanks to the New Yorker’s Sasha Frere-Jones, I discovered the Israeli musician Kutiman and his fabulous ThruYOU project. Kutiman scanned YouTube for dozens of practice sessions and music instructional videos from around the world and mixed them to create new, full-length songs with videos. (My favorite, “The Mother of All Funk Chords,” even features a theremin.) His site crashed because of massive traffic, but it’s up again and ready to enjoy.

Eva Holland
I caught a “Breadlines and Champagne” double bill at New York’s Film Forum—it’s a series of Depression-era movies that’s been running in honor of the economic crisis—and was thrilled to find out that the two films I saw (Me and My Gal and Central Park were both jam packed with vintage Manhattan. Here’s the trailer for Central Park, a bizarre caper/romance that takes place in and around the park’s zoo:

Michael Yessis
I loved the art on the wall of my New York City hotel room: A map of the New York City transit system, circa 1925.

Kutiman! What a great idea. This is what it is about isn’t it? I can see this becoming a new sort of avenue with virtual acts like that and the Professional teenagers
